FRAGLITE

A UT99-style arena shooter, right in your browser

FRAGLITE is a free, fast arena shooter built as a love letter to Unreal Tournament (UT99) and Quake III Arena-era multiplayer: deathmatch, team deathmatch and capture the flag, seen from above and played straight from a web page. No download, no install, no account - press Play and you're in a quick game.

The flag dais on CTF-Rampart
CTF-Rampart, a stone fortress: the flag on its dais above the grate.

Three ways to play

Deathmatch is every player for themselves - or a straight 1v1 duel on the smaller arenas. Team deathmatch puts you in a squad racing to the frag limit. Capture the flag is the classic: grab the enemy flag and get it home while yours is safe.

Instagib, the way you remember it

One rifle, one shot, one kill - with UT-style double-tap dodges, jump pads and sniper ledges. Prefer weapons and pickups? Switch to Classic for the Enforcer, Minigun, Flak Cannon, Shock Rifle and Rocket Launcher, plus health, armour and the shield belt.

Built for quick games

The FRAGLITE servers are always on - team games in instagib and classic, and a 1v1 duel server - and bots fill the empty slots, so there's always a game to drop into, whether you have two minutes or an evening. Pick 2 to 10 players, a mode and a map, and you're playing in seconds.

Play with your friends

Hit Create game and your browser hosts a room: you choose the rules and you're its admin. Send your friends the room code or the invite link and they're in, on any device. Make it private with a password, change the map mid-session, kick, promote other admins - the way player-run servers used to work.

On your phone too

FRAGLITE is built for keyboard and mouse, and it plays on phones and tablets too: one stick to move and aim, with FIRE and dodge buttons under your other thumb, and an aim assist the whole match shares. Be warned that on the public servers, computer players have the edge - a phone is great for a quick game against bots, or with friends who are on their phones too. Gamepads work as well.

Ten hand-built maps

Big 5v5 maps - CTF-EternalDepths, CTF-Foundry, CTF-Orbital, CTF-Medina, CTF-Sundown, CTF-Rampart - plus 2v2 and 1v1 arenas: CTF-Launchpad, CTF-SunkenTemple, DM-Bulkhead, DM-Crucible. Some are homages to maps you'll know; all of them are built for top-down play, with set pieces of their own: a train through the middle of a frontier town, a crusher over the super health, rockets launching beside the arena. See every map.

Inspired by the classics

If you grew up on UT99 servers, Quake III Arena, Unreal Tournament 2004 or Counter-Strike LAN parties, FRAGLITE should feel familiar: short respawns, readable maps, skill over loadouts. It's a new game, not a port or a remake - a small, fast tribute you can play anywhere.
